Google Webmaster Console is now generally referred to as Google Search Console. A domain property covers variations such as different protocols and subdomains, while a URL-prefix property covers only the specified address and its eligible variations. Selecting the wrong property can make it appear that data or settings are missing.
If you cannot sign in, check that you are using the correct Google account and that your browser has not automatically selected a different account. Sign out of other accounts, use a private browsing window, or try another supported browser. If you have forgotten your password, use the standard Google account recovery process. If you can sign in but cannot open the website property, ask an existing owner to confirm your permissions and the exact property address.
After logging in, review the Overview report for a summary of the property. Use Performance to assess search queries, pages and search visibility, and Indexing reports to investigate whether important pages have been crawled and indexed. Changes to permissions, verification and property configuration are managed from Settings.
For security, use an individual company account rather than sharing one login, enable appropriate account security controls and remove access for people who no longer work on the website. Keep at least one verified owner account available so the property can be administered if another user loses access.
